2025 Akwesasne International Powwow Scholarship

The Akwesasne International Powwow is proud to offer a Graduating Akwesasne student the Akwesasne International Powwow Scholarship. This Scholarship will be awarded to one student from one of our many local schools from either side of the border. The award is in the amount of $1,500.00 USD/CAD depending on the school you are graduating from. This is a competitive scholarship where students will be asked to submit the required documentation for consideration of the award.

To be considered for this scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a full-time First Nation, Metis or Inuit student in good academic standing graduating from one of our local schools.
2. A cumulative “B” Grade point average.  
3. Recipient must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate program.  (Acceptance letter or supporting documentation required.)
4. Recipient must complete and submit the attached bursary package.
5. Students must agree to have their names and photographs printed for future public relations material.
6. Demonstrate good character and citizenship. 
7. Should have contributed to the Akwesasne International Powwow in some manner over the years.

Deadline

The deadline for submission is June 13th, 2025, for all Salmon River Central School, Massena Central School, Cornwall Collegiate & Vocational School, St. Lawrence High School, St. Joseph's Catholic Secondary School, and Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School students.

Recipient of the awards will be announced at their respective Graduation ceremony.
