Kevin Syrette

Kevin comes to us from the Batchewana First Nation in northern Ontario near Sault Ste Marie. Kevin is a championship singer and one of the original members of the Bear Creek drum group. With the group, he has hosted and competed at various powwows throughout North America including winning the Gathering of Nations World Class and Schemitzun Northern World Champion singing contests. He was also a part of the Grammy nominated Bear Creek album 'XI. Kevin has served as an arena director and head singing judge at various celebrations over the years including the annual Akwesasne Powwow. Outside of the powwow arena, Kevin is a father of two and a small business owner.

Kevin is honoured to have been asked to return as head singing judge for this year's Akwesasne Powwow.
